Every year, these animals migrate and affect traffic on Christmas Island.
On Christmas Island in Australia these days, the streets are filled with red creatures crawling around. They are actually crabs trying to move towards the sea.
According to ABC, this year millions of crabs will come out of their hiding places to make one of the largest migrations in many years.

The crabs move out from their caves or from within the forest.
The heavy rain that had fallen earlier signaled the right time and the crabs began their journey. Traffic was blocked in many places by these animals.
“They are all over the island and go to every corner, every corner of the island. You will see these crustaceans running around the school yard and running into the porch and crawling all over the room,” shared the head ranger in the area, Lin Gaff.

According to Gaff, this migration process occurs every year and has become a familiar image to residents in the area. Gaff revealed that this year the crabs migrated at the right time. Last year, the crabs migrated 4 months late due to prolonged lack of rain.
