Most recently, at noon on November 2, Noi Bai airport security forces received a bag containing many valuables left behind by a passenger.
The brown bag was discovered by Mr. Tran Xuan Thang, an airport employee, on a luggage cart on the first floor of passenger terminal T2.
Identifying the items as forgotten, Mr. Thang reported them to the airport security force. Upon inspection, the bag contained 5 gold metal rings, 100 Canadian dollars, 2 cell phones and some other jewelry. In addition, the bag contained a passport in the name of Cao Thi T. (born in 1957) and many important personal documents.
After discovering that she had left her bag, Ms. T. panicked and went looking for it. Only when she contacted the airport security staff and described the lost bag did she breathe a sigh of relief when the security staff confirmed that her belongings had been found.
At 2:00 p.m. the same day, airport security returned the bag to Ms. T. The female passenger said she had just returned from Canada to Noi Bai airport when the incident happened.
Previously, on October 31, Noi Bai airport also recorded a passenger who left his suitcase after a flight from Japan to Vietnam. The suitcase contained 300,000 Yen (equivalent to 48 million VND) and personal belongings.
The owner of the suitcase was a woman who worked in Japan. Because she had no chance to visit her family, she was finally able to return home after 5 years. She was so happy to see her family again that she forgot about the suitcase containing her savings. Fortunately, airport security returned the forgotten property to her.
Another case also had a backpack containing money saved during 10 years of working in Korea forgotten.
The incident occurred at around 10:00 p.m. on October 20. While on duty, Mr. Duong Tien Dat - Security Team of Noi Bai International Airport, discovered a brown backpack left on the A2 Customs X-ray machine - Noi Bai T2 Terminal.
Determining that it was a forgotten luggage, Mr. Dat informed his colleague, Mr. Viet, to coordinate the inspection. Upon inspection, the backpack contained 6,975 USD and 2.7 million won (equivalent to over 220 million VND) along with many jewelry items and important personal documents bearing the name of Vuong Xuan Ch.
Immediately, Mr. Dat and Mr. Viet reported and made a handover record to the ground department of Noi Bai airport.
At around 2am on October 21, Mr. Vuong Xuan Ch. panicked and returned to the airport to look for it. At that time, this tourist met Mr. Viet. After hearing Mr. Ch. describe the backpack and the belongings inside, Mr. Viet identified the correct owner and tried to contact the airport's ground department.
Receiving the backpack back, Mr. Ch. said that it was his entire salary from working in Korea for 10 years. Mr. Ch. felt lucky to have received support from Noi Bai airport security forces to find his property.
To avoid losing items, Noi Bai airport recommends that passengers check their personal belongings before traveling.
In case of leaving luggage behind for 24 hours, Noi Bai airport recommends passengers call the hotline of Noi Bai Aviation Security Center.
Within 24 hours of the time of leaving the item, the passenger should contact the Lost and Found Department for assistance.
