Happiness in new homes
These days, hundreds of households in the mountainous district of Tram Tau cannot hide their joy and happiness when they have fulfilled their dream of "eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses". Although there are still many difficulties along with the hot summer weather, it cannot stop the spirit of mutual love, support, and help for poor households, near-poor households and policy families in implementing the Project of cadres, party members, people and the entire political system so that the subjects can have new, warm and affectionate houses.
It has been nearly a month since Mr. Hang A Vang moved to his new home, but until now, he thought it was a dream come true. Being a poor household, without a stable job, his main income depends on a few fields, so life is difficult. The makeshift house built with bamboo poles many years ago is now rickety and dilapidated, especially in the rainy season. With support of 60 million VND under the Housing Support Project for Poor and Near-Poor Households and the attention and help of the local government, his brothers and sisters and villagers in terms of materials and working days, Mr. Vang has built a new house worth over 100 million VND.
Mr. Vang shared, "I am really touched when the State pays attention to supporting housing costs for poor households like me. From now on, rain or shine, I can rest assured. This is the long-standing desire and expectation of my family."
For Mr. Giang A Sinh from Khao Chu village, there is no greater happiness than receiving 60 million VND from the State to build a house. Now, Mr. Sinh and his family members are always touched and feel warm, the new "strong above and durable below" home is the motivation for families to overcome difficulties and rise up in life.
During the implementation of the Project, the district's working groups regularly grasp difficulties to promptly report to the district for solutions.
The joy and happiness of the households in Ban Cong is also the excitement, emotion and gratitude, which is difficult to put into words, of the 72 households supported to build new houses under this year's Project in Tram Tau commune.
Mr. Giang A Vang in Tau Duoi village, Tram Tau commune affirmed: "Without the support of the state and the help of officials and people in the village, I don't know when my family would be able to build a new house."
- What difficulties did you encounter while building your new house?
- My family is a particularly difficult household in the commune; there is no stable job, the main income depends on a few fields. The old house was degraded. When building a new house in a high location, traffic is difficult, motor vehicles cannot access, so all construction materials such as wood, sand, cement, roofing sheets, etc. must be transported by human power.
- How did your family overcome the above difficulties?
- Thanks to the government's support of 60 million VND in cash, especially the support of working days from the villagers; the commune's mass organizations helped transport materials and participated in the construction, we have a new house like today. I would like to thank everyone.
Together, united
According to the province's Project, by 2025, Tram Tau district will have 253 new and repaired houses (including 246 poor households and 7 near-poor households), 225 new houses, and 28 repaired houses.
As a mountainous district, through screening, Tram Tau identified 253 households facing housing difficulties, many of which are single, elderly, sick, etc. Despite receiving financial support from the state, these households still find it difficult to build their own houses without the joint efforts and consensus of the entire political system from the district to the grassroots level, especially the creative ways of each locality, so in early May 2025, this locality soon completed the elimination of temporary houses for all households.
For example, in Tram Tau commune, to soon complete 72/72 new houses according to the Project, under the direction of the District People's Committee, the commune established a Steering Committee, assigning specific tasks to each cadre in charge of villages and households to promptly grasp the construction progress and advise local authorities to resolve arising issues.
Mr. Giang A Cau - a social and cultural officer of Tram Tau commune shared: "I was assigned to monitor 4 households building new houses in Tau Tren village. During the process of implementing the new house building, I had to monitor and grasp the difficulties of each household every day to report to the steering committee. For example, if a household lacked funds to buy materials, I reported to the commune to stand as a guarantee with the material supplier to sell to households, ensuring no interruption in implementation".
In order to soon complete the housing according to the Project, Tram Tau district has mobilized the participation of all levels, sectors, especially the local government in supporting and helping poor and near-poor households build houses; at the same time, combining the State budget with other legally mobilized resources inside and outside the district. The houses all ensure the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard frame - wall, hard roof), especially many households have been supported by their families, clans and communities to rebuild spacious and beautiful houses.
In particular, to ensure progress, Tram Tau district has established working groups to eliminate temporary houses, assigning heads of agencies and units to be team leaders. According to Mr. Giang A Vu - Secretary of Tram Tau District Party Committee, these working groups not only direct, but also coordinate with local authorities to mobilize forces, directly support the construction of houses in a form suitable to the actual conditions of each household.
"Every day, the teams are responsible for reporting progress, problems, and difficulties to the district leaders and the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for timely handling" - Secretary Vu shared.
With creative ways, suitable to the actual conditions of the highland district, especially promoting "Weekend with the people", the role of village elders or assigning cadres in charge of each household, promoting the abandonment of the idea of choosing a day, hour, month to start construction, especially the responsible participation of the entire political system, so by the beginning of May, Tram Tau district had completed the repair and renovation, reaching 100% of the plan - finishing 1 month ahead of the plan set by the province, with a total implementation cost of over 14 billion VND.
It can be affirmed that the mobilization of the entire political system, the business community and the entire population to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the motto that the State directly supports a part, the rest is contributions from socialized sources and families organize to build houses themselves in the mountainous district of Tram Tau has brought truly warm and solid houses, vividly demonstrating the humanistic meaning of the policy so that "no one is left behind". Thereby, promptly reducing difficulties, stabilizing and improving life, creating conditions for poor and near-poor households to solve housing shortages, gradually rising up to escape poverty sustainably in Tram Tau district in particular and the whole Yen Bai province in general. Those practical and meaningful deeds are early gifts that Tram Tau people report to Uncle Ho on the occasion of his 135th birthday.
Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a program of profound human significance of our Party and State; expressing gratitude and repaying the kindness of those who have contributed to the country; demonstrating the spirit of great national unity, "mutual love", "national love, compatriotism"; is a responsibility to the people, especially the disadvantaged, the disadvantaged, and remote areas... Together with the whole country, Yen Bai has been urgently speeding up the progress to complete the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. |
