Journey to decode numbers through comics about accounting profession

For the first time, numbers or the accounting profession are no longer dry but are integrated into a comic book project with a familiar and interesting story.

On September 20, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, there was an exchange program to launch the comic book project Accounting Squad - Journey to Decode Numbers (Finance Publishing House), authored by Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi My Hanh and Dr. Tran Khanh Lam. As experts in finance and accounting, launching the comic book Accounting Squad - Journey to Decode Numbers is the passion of both of them with the desire to contribute to career guidance in a close and easy-to-understand way for young people.

The comic book revolves around the "start-up" journey of little girl Doanh Doanh, from which the "difficult" concepts and knowledge of the accounting profession are vividly explained. In addition to Doanh Doanh, the story also has other characters such as Ba Loi, Mother Chi, Ms. Xuat, Mr. Kho and especially the "mysterious" character of strawberry Trend Berry. The story consists of 5 chapters with attractive names such as: Talking numbers , Mysterious treasure in numbers , Brain battle between numbers , Data matrix - how to escape , Overcoming the certificate barrier to reach out to the world . Each chapter consists of many short, easy-to-read segments, interspersed with interesting related information such as "Did you know?", "Talking numbers", "Characters"...

Sharing about the opportunity to carry out the comic book project Accounting Squad - Journey to decode numbers , Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi My Hanh said that during her 25 years of participating in the teaching field, she absorbed and summarized a lot of knowledge about the accounting profession. According to her, the accounting profession is like a financial doctor of a company, only when thoroughly understanding the body of the enterprise can the cause be found for treatment.

“Talking about mathematics is talking about dry numbers, so at first many people do not want to stick with it. When teaching, I did not see any excitement in the eyes of the students when faced with the knowledge I brought. From then on, I wondered how to find a more inspiring way to convey it to them. Because awareness will determine behavior, once students are aware and see it as valuable content, they will have passion, from which they will have a more complete and enthusiastic understanding,” Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thi My Hanh shared.

The book is not only the result of the authors' dedication, but also a vivid highlight in introducing careers to the public and young people.

Contributing significantly to the comic book project The Accounting Squad - Journey to Decode the Numbers is the drawing of artist Linh Rab, author of the series The Adventure of De Ut, which just won the 2025 Cricket Aspiration Award. Along with that is the ingenuity in the layout of content director Tran Anh Khoi.
