Electronic tax system resumes operation from morning of March 17

According to information from the Department of Technology, Digital Transformation and Automation (Tax Department), from 8:00 a.m. on March 17, the entire electronic tax system, after a period of suspension (from 5:00 p.m. on March 12 to 8:00 a.m. on March 17) to serve the upgrading and conversion of tax agency categories, has resumed operation.

The successful conversion and smooth operation of the system facilitate tax management and serve taxpayers.

Previously, the Tax Department issued Notice No. 41/TB-CT dated March 12 on the temporary suspension of electronic tax systems to serve the upgrading to meet the restructuring and arrangement of tax agencies.

“The suspension of electronic tax systems for upgrading and conversion is in accordance with the general plan of the Government and the Ministry of Finance after a period of restructuring and rearranging the state apparatus. Accordingly, the current organizational structure of the Tax Department is implementing a model of 20 regional Tax Departments and 350 district-level Tax Teams (replacing the previous 63 Tax Departments and affiliated Tax Departments).

To improve management efficiency, Director Mai Xuan Thanh has directed units in the entire Tax sector to pay special attention to data conversion and tax management applications to ensure absolute safety, and is determined that immediately after the conversion, operations will be deployed smoothly to serve people and businesses conducting transactions in the electronic tax environment.
