Hien Luong is a locality with great potential and strengths in agricultural and forestry production. However, the scale of economic models is still small, the conversion of crop and livestock structure is slow, leading to low economic efficiency. Clearly identifying the difficulties and limitations of the locality, the commune encourages people to promote development in the direction of commodity production, value chains; develop livestock farming on a household and farm scale associated with the application of scientific and technical advances in production. From the policy of encouraging the development of commodity production of the local Party Committee and government, people have boldly invested in production development.

One of the typical models is the commercial snail farming of Mr. Nguyen Duc Phong in Zone 10, Xuan Ang. On an area of 1,500m2 of pond, Mr. Phong renovated the embankment system, built a pond to raise snails for reproduction and commercial purposes. He said: Snails are easy to raise, have few diseases, and take advantage of natural food sources. Each year, his family sells about 2 tons of snails, earning more than 100 million VND. Not only selling commercial snails, he also provides seeds to people in the commune, creating a stable source of income.

Snail farming model provides stable income for Mr. Nguyen Duc Phong in zone 10, Xuan Ang.

In parallel, the honey bee farming model of Mr. Do Giang Nam's household is also bringing economic efficiency. Taking advantage of the hill area, Mr. Nam invested in raising 20 honey bee colonies. Thanks to proper care and seasonal exploitation, each year he collects 200 liters of honey, earning nearly 100 million VND. Mr. Nam shared: Beekeeping does not cost much, has few risks, and is environmentally friendly. The important thing is to choose a suitable location for the bee colony, near the flower source, and maintain good hygiene so that the colony can develop stably.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Quoc - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: Diverse economic models such as beekeeping and snail farming have shown the dynamism and creativity of the people in production development. The commune encourages the replication of models suitable to local conditions, and at the same time coordinates with specialized sectors to open technical training classes, instructing people to link up to consume products, ensuring stable output. In addition, the commune focuses on guiding people to access preferential policies to invest in production development, prioritizing the development of crops and livestock with strengths. Encourage the establishment of cooperatives and cooperative groups for people to link up in production, promoting agricultural development towards concentrated commodity production.

Currently, many households in Hien Luong continue to replicate the model of raising snails and beekeeping for honey intercropping in fruit growing areas. These models not only help diversify income sources but also create a closed, environmentally friendly value chain, aiming towards sustainable agricultural development.

The average income per capita of the commune is estimated to reach 55.5 million VND by the end of 2025; the poverty rate will decrease to 3.93%, and the near-poverty rate to 3.75%...
