The principal of Anh Duong kindergarten will be disciplined for the food ration controversy.

Chau Duc District People's Committee has just announced the conclusion of a comprehensive inspection at Anh Duong Kindergarten according to the inspection decision announced by Chau Duc District People's Committee on September 19, the inspection period is from January 2022 to September 2024.

The reason for the comprehensive inspection was that teachers at the school had complained to the district authorities about their lunches being cut.

According to the newly announced inspection conclusion, the District Chief Inspector - Mr. Nguyen Tien Trung recommended that the People's Committee of Chau Duc district handle Ms. Hue in her role as school principal and individuals related to the limitations and shortcomings at Anh Duong school.

Specifically, for the lunch of teachers and workers at Anh Duong school from September 2023 to May 2024, Ms. Hue did not organize to collect opinions, did not publicize the amount of revenue and expenditure. Currently, the remaining amount is 18,110,000 VND.

"The school principal is responsible for publicly organizing and refunding the amount of VND18,110,000 to teachers and employees who paid for lunch," the inspection conclusion stated.

According to the inspection conclusion, the remaining amount of money for meals for children at school is more than 25 million VND and has not been refunded to parents.

The conclusion assigned the Department of Education and Training, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Finance - Planning of Chau Duc district to monitor the overcoming of limitations and shortcomings at Anh Duong Kindergarten.

During the Chau Duc district’s comprehensive inspection of the school, Ms. Hue was hospitalized due to illness. Last week, she submitted a resignation letter to the Chau Duc district People’s Committee, citing poor health and admitting that there had been shortcomings in management and operations that caused internal disunity.

Last September, the school's teachers and staff met with the Chairman of Chau Duc District People's Committee to complain that the school lunch fee was 30,000 VND per meal, but the portion they received only consisted of rice, soup, and a few pieces of ham.

On October 7, 2024, at the 22nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Viet Thanh requested to quickly clarify the violations and strictly handle the case. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that we cannot wait because the principal of this kindergarten went to the hospital.
