Man Utd defeated Athletic Bilbao 4-1 at Old Trafford on the morning of May 9, winning 7-1 on aggregate after two legs of the Europa League semi-final to reach the final for the first time in 4 years.
They will face Tottenham Hotspur at San Mames Stadium (Spain) on May 22 in search of the only title of this season.

"This is the least we can do for the fans, for their support in this difficult season. I was stressed about the final. If we don't win, everything will be meaningless. But we are happy to be in the final and let's see what happens," coach Amorim told TNT Sports after the second leg of the Europa League semi-final on the morning of May 9.
This season, Man Utd have suffered three defeats against Tottenham. They lost 0-3 and 0-1 in the Premier League, then lost 3-4 in the League Cup quarter-finals. In this rematch, Coach Amorim is determined to defeat an opponent who is also in the bottom half of the Premier League table and must win the Europa League to secure a place in the Champions League next season.
"We have done quite well in Europe but are struggling in the Premier League and are trying to get better. In the upcoming match against Tottenham, Man Utd must have a full squad, stick to the game, need a bit of luck and be sharp. This will be a big final for both teams," said coach Amorim.
Defeating Athletic Bilbao in the second leg helped Man Utd maintain their unbeaten record through 14 matches in the Europa League this season, winning 9, drawing 5, their best record in a season in the European Cup.

According to coach Amorim, the important thing is not the bonus, the title or the Champions League ticket but the value Man Utd brings to the fans of this team.
"It's the feeling that we can do something, the feeling of giving something to the fans. It's the feeling that we can change things," coach Amorim emphasized.
Coach Ruben Amorim has made history at Man Utd with an admirable achievement. The Portuguese strategist became the second coach to take the team to the European Cup final in his first season leading Man Utd, only after Jose Mourinho in the 2016-2017 season.
The UEFA Europa League final between Man Utd and Tottenham will take place at 2am on May 22 at San Mames Stadium (Spain).
