MU must change to regain position in the Premier League
"I feel ashamed when I look at the Premier League table. For me, whether we win the Europa League or not is not important because the problem is much bigger than that," said coach Amorim after MU lost 0-2 at home to West Ham in round 36 of the Premier League.
Coach Amorim is worried about MU with its current position.

This is MU's 9th home defeat in the Premier League this season, and the 17th defeat after 36 rounds. These are all the worst achievements in the history of the "Red Devils". Including the most home defeats in a season since the 1930-1931, 1933-1934 and 1962-1963 seasons. With 17 defeats so far, MU also has the most losses since being relegated 51 years ago.
"We need to think about a lot of things for next season. Everyone has to think seriously about a lot of things here. Everyone is thinking about the (Europa League) final. But we have bigger things to think about, and have to change a lot at the end of this season," coach Amorim emphasized.
MU's current downward streak in the Premier League (7 consecutive matches without a win, with 2 draws and 5 losses) is seen by many as the team having abandoned this arena to focus on the goal of winning the Europa League, where they will meet Tottenham in the final, an opponent in a similar situation, ranked 17th in the Premier League.
If MU or Tottenham win the Europa League, they will save their season and have a place in the Champions League.

This is a gamble between two teams, with one team enjoying the joy of being crowned. The other team, regardless of how they perform in the Europa League final, will surely be unable to avoid a storm of criticism if they fail.
Coach Amorim said: "To lead to this outcome, it is not because of the players. I am talking about myself and the culture in the club. We need to change that. We need to be really strong this summer and be brave. If there is still a feeling that we will look for opportunities in another tournament, instead of the Premier League, we should give that space to others."
MU and Tottenham (who also lost 0-2 to Crystal Palace) will have about 10 more days to prepare for the Europa League final that will decide their fate this season, taking place at 2am on May 22 at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao (Spain). This is the home stadium of Athletic Bilbao Club, where MU defeated this opponent 3-0 in the first leg of the semi-final.
