Coach Kim Sang Sik: "We are proud to defeat Man Utd"

(Dan Tri) - The Southeast Asian All-Stars team surprisingly defeated Man Utd 1-0 at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia) in a friendly match on the evening of May 28. After the match, coach Kim Sang Sik could not hide his happiness.

Appearing in the press conference after the match, coach Kim Sang Sik shared: "The Southeast Asian star players had a great match against the world's top team like Man Utd. We only had two days of training to prepare for this match, but the players played together as if they had been training together for a long time.

The weather was hot but the stadium was packed with fans, we were really touched by the fans' support."

After finishing the final round of the Premier League on May 25, Man Utd flew to Malaysia to play a friendly match with the Southeast Asian All-Star team. The decline in fitness of key players has greatly affected the performance of the stars.

Coach Kim Sang Sik used all 4 players from the Vietnamese team in this match. Hai Long was in the starting lineup from the beginning and played energetically, while Van Vi, Hoang Duc, and Duy Manh entered the field in the second half and played well.

In the context of Man Utd's lackluster performance, the Southeast Asian All-Stars team left an impression and had many moments of pressure. The efforts of coach Kim Sang Sik's team were rewarded, when Segecic made a delicate pass to help Maung Maung Lwin (Myanmar) score the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.

The 0-1 loss to Southeast Asian Stars was really disappointing for Man Utd, as they were rated higher and came from the world's leading football background.
