Appearing at the press conference after the match, coach Kim Sang Sik shared: "The Southeast Asian star players had a great match against the world's top team like Man Utd.
We only had two days of training to prepare for this match, but the players played as if they had been training together for a long time. The weather was hot but the fans came to Bukit Jalil in large numbers, we were really touched by the cheers of the fans."

The Korean strategist is proud that his students defeated Man Utd: "Man Utd is admired by millions of fans around the world, it is a great pride for us to face such a team.
This victory was fantastic. The performance of the Southeast Asian players showed that they are absolutely capable of playing for the top teams in the world."
Regarding Hai Long's performance, coach Kim Sang Sik commented: "Hai Long only joined us yesterday but he played well. He proved that he can shine in international matches, which has always been shown in the Vietnamese team.
The Vietnamese team has an important match with Malaysia on June 10. We will return to Vietnam to prepare for the best result against Malaysia away in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers."
Notably, coach Kim Sang Sik regretted that the Southeast Asian Stars team could not score more goals: "We had the opportunity to score more goals in the match against Man Utd, although it was not easy.
The Myanmar player's goal was really valuable. The victory against Man Utd was a great experience for the Southeast Asian players. I myself am very happy to have had time to work with the top players in Southeast Asia."

Finally, coach Kim Sang Sik suddenly worried that striker Aguero could cause difficulties for the Vietnamese team on June 10: "Aguero is the captain of the ASEAN All Stars, he calmly led the team to face Man Utd. He could be a threat to the Vietnamese team in the upcoming match against Malaysia."
After finishing the final round of the Premier League on May 25, Man Utd flew to Malaysia to play a friendly match with the Southeast Asian All-Star team. The decline in fitness of key players has greatly affected the performance of the stars.
Coach Kim Sang Sik used all 4 players from the Vietnamese team in this match. Hai Long was in the starting lineup from the beginning and played energetically, while Van Vi, Hoang Duc, and Duy Manh entered the field in the second half and played well.
In the context of Man Utd's lackluster performance, the Southeast Asian All-Stars team left an impression and had many moments of pressure. The efforts of coach Kim Sang Sik's team were rewarded, when Segecic made a delicate pass to help Maung Maung Lwin (Myanmar) score the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.
The 0-1 loss to Southeast Asian Stars was really disappointing for Man Utd, as they were rated higher and came from the world's leading football background. Notably, coach Amorim put on the field a starting lineup with 9/11 positions being famous players such as Onana, Maguire, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Hojlund...
