"Although it is the first leg, this is an important match and perhaps the most difficult for us to qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup finals. The Vietnamese team will use all their inherent abilities to defeat Malaysia," coach Kim Sang Sik confidently said at a press conference before the Malaysia match, the second match of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

Coach Kim Sang Sik admitted that he and his players do not have much information about the Malaysian players: "Of the 30 Malaysian players, there are 18 players that we do not know yet. In the match with the Vietnamese team, there will also be 5 new players participating in the match. This makes it difficult for the Vietnamese team to evaluate the opponent's players or analyze tactics. However, we try to prepare well , use all our abilities and solidarity, and be ready for the match ."
Despite many difficulties, the Korean strategist is still very confident: "Football is a difficult sport even when we know the opponent's tactics. The result is decided based on the preparation of each team. In the past, the Vietnamese team had good results when meeting Malaysia. I hope the team will maintain the above positive energy. All of our players are well prepared, I believe they will play well tomorrow."

Coach Kim Sang Sik recalled the victory of the Southeast Asian All-Stars against MU to encourage his players: "The victory against MU made me understand more the saying: Football is unpredictable. With MU, they have to travel a lot and adapt to the climate. We are lucky in those factors. Through the match, the Southeast Asian players are also more confident that they can reach out to the world's playgrounds."
"I think we should focus on the positives instead of the pressure. As a national team, every match is stressful. So, we have to try to find the positives in the matches to have a good performance," Coach Kim Sang Sik concluded.
Meanwhile, center back Do Duy Manh showed his determination: "This is a very important match for the Vietnam team. But we have carefully prepared our tactics, aiming for the best result against Malaysia. The Vietnam team follows the tactics built by the coaching staff to do their best in the away match against Malaysia."
The Vietnam vs Malaysia match will kick off at 8:00 p.m. on June 10 at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
