Two members will not continue to accompany the Vietnamese women's team at ASIAD 19 when the official list of 22 players was announced by coach Mai Duc Chung: striker Vu Thi Hoa and defender Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh.

Among them, Vu Thi Hoa suffered a minor ankle injury in a friendly match with a team from the Maritime University and needs about 2 weeks to recover. To replace this young striker, coach Mai Duc Chung called up striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan from Ho Chi Minh City Club from September 12.

For Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, the defender born in 2001, this is the first time she has been called up to the national team. Training with her seniors will help her gain valuable experience and draw lessons for herself, aiming for future goals.

Previously, captain Huynh Nhu confirmed that she would not participate in the 19th ASIAD when Lank FC refused to release her players to serve the domestic tournaments of Portugal. In addition, center back Chuong Thi Kieu could not participate in the tournament with her teammates due to her injury not fully recovered.

The Vietnamese women's team will depart for China at 11:45 tomorrow, September 19. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team's flight will connect in Guangzhou before landing at 18:55 the same day at Wenzhou city airport.
