Coach Mano Polking declared that Thailand will defeat the Chinese team

In the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia, Thailand is in Group C with the teams of Korea, China and Singapore.

According to the regulations of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia, the top two teams in each group in the second qualifying round will advance to the third qualifying round (there are a total of 9 groups in the second qualifying round).

Right after the Thai team announced the list of players for the World Cup qualifiers taking place in November, Thailand coach Mano Polking also announced the goal of the Golden Temple team. Mr. Polking said: "We are strong enough to defeat the Chinese team."

"I will prepare the Thai team as best as I can. I have called up the best players. We have changed our personnel compared to the last training session in October. I am confident in the strength of my team," added coach Mano Polking.

According to Mr. Polking, the Thai team has carefully studied their Chinese opponents, including their recent friendly matches, including the match between the Chinese team and the Vietnamese team in October.

The coach with dual German and Brazilian nationality who is leading the Thai team said: "China is a strong team, they have many players who are playing successfully in the Chinese Super League."

"We will definitely face a difficult match against the Chinese team. However, if we play as we have prepared, plus the support of the home crowd, I believe the Thai team will beat the Chinese team," coach Mano Polking affirmed.

Thailand is expected to gather from November 9. The Golden Temple team will host China at home on November 16, then Thailand will visit Singapore on November 21.
