Business households gradually adapt to new regulations on invoicing

From June 1, 2025, businesses with annual revenue of over VND 1 billion that sell goods and services directly to consumers are required to use electronic invoices generated from cash registers. In response to this requirement, many businesses have proactively researched and gradually implemented it in accordance with regulations.

Step by step familiarization with new technology

Ms. Tinh, owner of Hoang Bao sportswear shop at 25 Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street, Ward 8, Vung Tau City, shared: “After many years of doing business in the traditional way, switching to using computers and electronic invoices initially made me a bit confused. However, after receiving specific advice from the Tax Department, I realized that this was a necessary step forward.”

Currently, Ms. Tinh is contacting the supplier to install a cash register with integrated electronic invoice software.

Similarly, Ms. Lan Huong, owner of Huong Lan fashion store in area C2-15 of Ba Ria market, has completed the registration of digital signature and is in the process of installing the software. “After attending the training course organized by the Tax Department, I have a better understanding of the process and benefits of electronic invoices. It is also more convenient for customers to have electronic invoices for product warranty.”

Surveys in busy business areas in the province show that the conversion is being carried out by business households in an orderly manner. Many stores have proactively sought information, registered for services and prepared necessary equipment.

Mr. Vo Hong Tuan, owner of Hoa 99 Enterprise at 624 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Ba Ria City, said: "Since we learned about the new regulations, we have purchased equipment and software to implement electronic invoice issuance."

On May 30, 2025, the Tax Department issued Official Dispatch No. 71/CD-CT to the Head of the Regional Tax Department requesting tax authorities at all levels to actively and synchronously deploy propaganda and support solutions, organize direct guidance, go to business addresses to train and accompany taxpayers in registering and using electronic invoices generated from cash registers, ensuring proper and full implementation of legal regulations on taxes and invoices.

Challenges in implementation

Despite the overall positive spirit, some businesses still face certain difficulties during the transition, mainly in choosing the right service provider and getting used to new operating procedures.

To solve this problem, the XV Tax Department has implemented many specific solutions to support business households such as propaganda and training. In addition, tax officers also directly guide basic operations on sample equipment. Open a hotline to answer questions 24/7. At the same time, arrange for direct consulting staff at the Branch's headquarters on working days.

Mr. Tran Hiep Hung, Deputy Head of the XV Tax Department, affirmed the specific benefits that electronic invoices bring: “Invoices are issued immediately, without having to wait for codes from the tax authorities as before. Customers receive invoices via email or text message, which is very convenient.”

For business people, the system will automatically calculate revenue and inventory, helping to manage business more effectively. In particular, tax declaration also becomes simpler when data is automatically synchronized.

In the coming time, the XV Tax Department will continue to promote support activities. It is expected to organize mobile training sessions in June, focusing on practical instructions on equipment operations.

In addition, the agency will coordinate with the People's Committees of wards and communes to increase propaganda through loudspeaker systems and community bulletin boards to inform all business households.

The implementation of e-invoices is not only a legal requirement but also an opportunity for businesses to modernize their operations, improve management efficiency and build credibility with customers. With the active support of the authorities and the cooperative spirit of the business community, this conversion promises to take place smoothly and bring positive results.
