Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Ha, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of Phu Yen District People's Committee, said: The District People's Committee directed specialized agencies to advise and guide cooperatives to comply with the 2012 Cooperative Law; organize training to improve the management capacity of the Board of Directors. At the same time, the district created conditions for cooperative members to borrow preferential loans with low interest rates to develop production, apply high technology; support 20 agricultural cooperatives to produce organically, clean and safe agricultural products, apply production processes associated with product consumption chains meeting VietGAP, GlobalGAP standards and organic orientation.

In the period of 2021-2025, the district will invest about 10 billion VND in cooperatives and cooperatives producing organic agriculture, building pilot economic models for evaluation and replication. Of which, the state budget will support 440 million VND to build 7,700 m² of greenhouses at Dong Tien Cooperative, Muong Do Commune, Muong Tac Agricultural Service, Huy Ha Commune and Bich Ha Agriculture, Huy Tuong Commune. The district encourages the establishment of agricultural and non-agricultural service cooperatives to support farmers in applying high technology and consuming products.

Tuong Phong Aquaculture Cooperative was established in 2016 and was initially supported with over 100 million VND to buy fish fry and build fish cages with an initial scale of about 20 cages. Taking advantage of the water surface and depth of the Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir area, the cooperative members gradually built and expanded the number of cages to 190 fish cages, meeting customer orders. Currently, the main fish breeds raised include: Catfish, silver carp, grass carp, common carp... the annual fish output reaches 2 tons/fish cage. After deducting expenses, the profit is about 50 million/cage.

Mr. Cam Van Thong, Director of Tuong Phong Aquaculture Cooperative, informed: The Cooperative is producing fish according to customer orders, ensuring that all caged fish are consumed. In addition, the Cooperative hopes that all levels will continue to support in surveying and determining the depth and water level of the red fish in Tuong Phong and Tuong Tien communes to move fish cages to a safe place during the flood season. Based on the survey results, the Cooperative plans to expand the number of fish cages, aiming to build a seafood brand and increase income for members.

The Cooperative has successfully tested many types of vegetables such as cherry tomatoes and strawberries. Mr. Ha Van Duc, Director of the Cooperative, said: The district provided technical support and 100 million VND to build greenhouses. The model of growing vegetables, tubers and fruits of the Cooperative reached a value of 300 million VND per 1,000 m². After the first crop, we recovered the capital to build greenhouses. Currently, the Cooperative grows 4,000 m² of vegetables according to VietGAP standards, bringing high economic efficiency.

At Quang Huy Agricultural Service Cooperative in Phu Yen District, organic rice production has brought in an income of 3-4 million VND/ha higher than the traditional method. Ms. Cam Thi Ngan, Director of the Cooperative, said: Since 2019, the Cooperative has expanded the organic area to 130 ha, linking with more than 500 ha of organic production. In 2024, the district will deploy the "My Home Field" model with 45 organizations and individuals participating in production and supporting rice consumption, helping the Cooperative expand its area, promote digital transformation in management, ensure a transparent production process and maintain the "Phu Yen Rice" brand.

Developing the collective economy is a key task led and directed by Phu Yen district to attract households to invest capital, land, and labor in production and business, creating links to increase product value. At the same time, helping cooperatives access new production models, supporting capital and techniques suitable to the characteristics and production orientation of each unit. Enhancing the role and position of cooperatives, Phu Yen district continues to implement support policies, increasing income for members, and solving jobs for local workers.
