Throughout the stages, Son La Forest Rangers have proactively advised local Party committees and authorities on policies, regulations and strategies on forest protection and development to meet the practical requirements of state forestry management tasks in the locality. They have proactively coordinated closely with forces and forest owners to effectively carry out forest management and protection in the area.
Facilities, equipment, vehicles, weapons, support tools, and communication equipment serving forest management and protection have been invested in synchronously and modernly, serving the synthesis, monitoring of forest and forestry land developments, PCCCR and patrolling, detecting, and handling forest destruction and illegal forest product trading. In recent years, the Forest Ranger force has applied GIS technology in monitoring forest resource developments; online forest fire monitoring system; applied remote sensing technology to quickly detect areas at risk of forest area reduction; used flying devices to improve the effectiveness of patrolling and inspection work, promptly detecting when forests are encroached upon.
Proactively advise the province and the sector to direct the implementation of policies and laws on land allocation, forest allocation, forest protection and development, payment for forest environmental services with stable livelihoods, improving the lives of local communities. Promote propaganda and dissemination of forestry laws, organize thousands of propaganda sessions at the grassroots level each year, with tens of thousands of people participating and signing commitments to protect forests. At the same time, strengthen patrols, promptly prevent, detect, and strictly handle cases and violators in the forestry sector.
The provincial Forest Ranger force has promoted the movement of the entire population participating in forest protection and development; built many models of forest gardens and forest hills, gradually creating income from forestry for the people. With a core role, the Forest Ranger force, together with other forces and localities, mobilized the strength of the people to protect the forests in the area well, constantly increasing forest cover.
The province currently protects 669,797 hectares of forest, with a coverage rate of 48%, creating a basis for implementing the policy of payment for forest environmental services. Nature conservation is of interest, managing and protecting a variety of animal and plant species, especially rare species in special-use forests and nature reserves, organizing rescue and releasing many types of wild animals back into the forest.
Faced with the need for innovation, the Forestry force continues to closely follow the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies; the leadership and direction of the province, the Department of Agriculture and Environment on forest management and protection. Innovate and streamline the organizational structure, operate effectively and efficiently. Strengthen training and development of civil servants and public employees. Complete the forestry database system, connect and share data with shared databases in the agriculture and environment sectors. Comprehensively implement digital transformation associated with the application of scientific advances to manage, protect and develop forests.
Improve state management capacity on forest and forestry land management; monitor the development of forests and forestry land in the province in a synchronous and unified manner with the Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Manage investment and guide the effective implementation of programs, projects and plans to protect and develop forests in a sustainable manner so that people have direct and substantial income from forestry. Strengthen enforcement of forestry laws, strengthen sanctions to strictly and promptly handle violations of forestry laws.
During the process of construction and development, the Forest Rangers have well implemented the motto of "sticking to the people, sticking to the forest"; promptly detecting, fighting, preventing, and handling violations in the field of forest management, protection, and development; increasingly effectively implementing the policy of socializing forest management and protection work... Son La Forest Rangers continue to unite, overcome difficulties, strive to excellently complete assigned tasks, contributing to building a green, fast and sustainable development province.
