Support vehicles to take union members and workers home for Tet

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has issued a Plan to support vehicles to bring union members and workers home to celebrate Tet and return to work on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026.

This is to reduce the financial burden for union members and workers; affirm the role, responsibility and comprehensive care of the Trade Union organization to union members and workers; contribute to ensuring traffic safety during the Lunar New Year.

The beneficiaries are union members and employees working under labor contracts or work contracts at units and enterprises that have paid union fees before October 31, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, Tay Ninh province; whose hometowns are in provinces and cities from Da Nang to the North.

Union members and workers are considered for support when they meet the following criteria: having difficult circumstances, low income (priority is given to union members and workers who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, reduced working hours, lost jobs, owed wages and bonuses; union members and workers who are relatives of people with revolutionary contributions, ethnic minorities, and areas affected by natural disasters) or have outstanding achievements in production and business.

Union members and workers participating in Trade Union activities have been awarded Certificates of Merit and awards by the Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central Industry Trade Unions, Economic Group Trade Unions and General Corporation Trade Unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor or higher in the period 2020-2025.

The General Confederation allocated 500 one-way air tickets and 500 gifts worth VND300,000/gift (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Dong Nai Province Labor Federation and Tay Ninh Province Labor Federation to support union members and workers to return home for Tet.

Representatives of the General Confederation of Labor and provincial and municipal labor federations met and wished union members and workers a happy new year before boarding flights home at Tan Son Nhat airport, Ho Chi Minh City.

From February 12 to 16, 2026 (ie December 25 to 29, At Ty year), flight times and flight numbers will be determined by the Labor Federations of provinces and cities in coordination with airlines and announced to union members and workers.

In addition, the General Confederation also organized the "Union Train - Spring 2026", allocating 2,000 two-way train tickets and 2,000 gifts worth VND 300,000/gift (cash) to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the Labor Federation of Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces and the Vietnam Railways Trade Union to support union members and workers to return home for Tet.

Representatives of the General Confederation of Labor and Labor Federations of provinces and cities, and the Vietnam Railway Trade Union organized meetings and New Year greetings to union members and workers before boarding trains to return home at departure stations (Saigon, Di An, Bien Hoa).

Time: Afternoon from South to North (before Lunar New Year) from February 10-16, 2026 (ie December 23-29, At Ty year). Afternoon from North to South (after Lunar New Year) from February 20- March 1, 2026 (ie January 4-13, Binh Ngo year).

Financial resources are taken from the General Confederation of Labor Unions and socialized sources, support from partners who have signed cooperation agreements with the General Confederation of Labor.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requires enterprises, production and business units, and grassroots trade unions to support the right subjects; choose convenient means of transport suitable for union members and workers. In addition, mobilize maximum resources from enterprises, local authorities, experts, partners, sponsors and other socialized resources to support union members and workers; implement closely, promptly, ensure savings, and comply with the provisions of the law and the General Confederation.
