Saigon University has just announced online enrollment for the 2025-2026 first grade. This has made many parents happy because they no longer have to queue overnight and spend dozens of hours waiting for food just to buy a set of registration documents.
An announcement from the school on the evening of May 21 said that this school year, the school plans to enroll 180 first graders, an increase of 30 compared to the previous school year.
Saigon Practical Primary School will give priority to admission in the following order: Children of officials and employees currently working at Saigon University; children whose father or mother is an official, civil servant, or state employee; other cases.
To register for admission, parents must apply online on the school's system between May 22 and 5:00 p.m. on May 23. After registering online, parents will submit their application directly to the school on May 26 and 27.
After May 27, those who do not submit their application or whose application contains incorrect information compared to the admission regulations will have their names removed from the admission list.
The results of the selection are expected to be announced on June 4.
The switch to online admission is expected to bring convenience, reduce pressure and hardship for parents during the first-year admission season.

Saigon Practical Primary School is a public school, established in 2019, affiliated with Saigon University. The school implements high-quality, advancededucational content that integrates regionally and internationally, teaches 2 main sessions/day, and enrolls students in integrated classes.
Because of the city's advanced integration model, class size is only 35 students, instead of the usual 40-45. All teachers can communicate in English and have basic computer skills. Regarding output, at least 50% of students achieve English and computer certificates according to international standards.
In previous years, the hunt for applications to grade 1 at Saigon Practical Primary School was no different from a fierce race. To have a chance to submit applications for their children, many parents had to endure the scene of lining up from dawn, even "camping" from the previous afternoon. When the expected number of students was reached, the school closed and did not accept any more parents.
Typically, in 2024, many parents had to stay up all night, eat and sleep at the school gate, waiting for more than 20 hours to get an application form. Family members had to come and provide food and water for those in line. It is worth noting that the application form does not necessarily guarantee a place in school, because the children still have to go through a competitive admission round.
