Lao Cai High School for the Gifted is one of 38 entrance exam sites for grade 10 high school, school year 2025 - 2026.

The English exam has 50 multiple choice questions combined with essay questions, with a time limit of 60 minutes. According to teachers and most candidates, the English exam closely follows the knowledge of the 2018 generaleducation program. The exam structure is reasonable, covering all knowledge sections from phonetics, vocabulary to reading comprehension and writing, suitable for students' abilities, and classifying students. Questions that classify excellent students require students to accumulate a lot of vocabulary and apply all the knowledge they have learned to be able to do it.

Commenting on the English exam, this year's 10th grade entrance exam, teacher Le Thi Huyen Sam, English teacher, Bac Cuong Secondary and High School, Lao Cai city said: Studying this year's exam, I found it suitable for the 2018 general education program and there is a classification of average, good and excellent students. In general, the exam is at a moderate level, suitable for the students.

Vu Hoang Lam, a candidate for Lao Cai City High School No. 1, also said: The structure of the exam is not too difficult, the types of questions are suitable for students and can be expanded. I expect to get 8.6 points.

After completing the third exam - English and also the last exam for non-specialized grade 10, the general mood of the candidates was excited because they had completed the exam after a series of hard days of studying. Just coming back from the exam room, Tran Quang Huy, a candidate for Lao Cai City High School No. 1 happily shared: I feel very excited because I have finished the exams and finished the grade 10 exam. I feel very comfortable, less pressure from the hard days of studying.

According to a quick report from the Department of Education and Training, the whole province had 10,659 candidates taking the English exam, 170 candidates were absent compared to the registration. At the end of the exam, there were no candidates or staff violating the exam regulations.

On the afternoon of June 5, candidates taking the entrance exam to Lao Cai High School for the Gifted will take the specialized subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, English and Chinese).
