The two sides focused on discussing many important issues related to import and export activities. The focus was on promoting lychee consumption in the Guangxi market in particular and China in general. Here, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang, said that in 2024, Bac Giang's import-export turnover with Chinese units and localities will reach more than 22 billion USD, accounting for 30% of Bac Giang's total import-export turnover in the year.
On behalf of the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang, Mr. Phuong hopes that the Department of Commerce of Guangxi will pay attention to creating favorable conditions for lychee to be exported to the Chinese market. In addition to lychee, Bac Giang also has many other valuable agricultural products such as custard apple, longan, orange, grapefruit, pork, poultry... with large output and qualified quality for export to the Chinese market.
At the same time, it is proposed to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two units (Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade and Guangxi Department of Commerce) to strengthen cooperation in a close and practical manner. On that basis, the two units will build the content and cooperation program in a practical and effective manner. Every year, a preliminary and final review will be held alternately in the two localities after implementing the set cooperation contents. Through the cooperation program, it will contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two localities more and more deeply...
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ly Thac affirmed that he will promote the promotion of agricultural products such as Bac Giang lychee; guide Guangxi enterprises and traders to connect with Vietnamese enterprises, promote enterprises of both sides to establish long-term cooperative relations; continue to optimize customs clearance procedures, improve customs clearance efficiency at border gates, open "green border gates" for agricultural products, and ensure smooth customs clearance for items such as lychee.

Sharing about the orientation to promote e-commerce development, a representative of the Guangxi Department of Commerce said that the locality has established its own “channel” for e-commerce platforms. Goods on the platform will be exempt from value-added tax and import tax; the locality wishes to cooperate with Bac Giang to have more products promoted and reach consumers through this e-commerce platform. In addition, the two sides continue to maintain import and export activities for other items.
Mr. Ly Thac also proposed that during the harvest of lychees or other agricultural products, customs units of Vietnam in general and Bac Giang in particular should not only focus on prioritizing customs clearance of agricultural products to China, but also need to quickly clear electronic products as well as other goods from Vietnam to China and vice versa.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Guangxi Department of Commerce, Mr. Li Thac presented an invitation letter to the leaders of the province and the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang to attend the program "ASEAN Fruits Convergence in Guangxi - RCEP Shopping More Convenient, Better Quality" to be held on August 18. This program is part of the Vietnam - China cooperation declaration, expanding the scale of importing high-quality products from Vietnam. Thereby, promoting products of countries including Vietnam, building sustainable trade cooperation relations.
