At the meeting, the People's Procuracies of the two provinces reported on the socio -economic situation; functions and activities of the People's Procuracies of the two provinces; and experience in fighting crime. In particular, they evaluated the results of cooperation in judicial assistance in criminal matters between the People's Procuracy of Dien Bien province and the People's Procuracy of Oudomxay province.
Based on the assessment of the results achieved in the past time, the two sides agreed to implement a number of key contents including: Agreeing to continue to strengthen the friendly cooperation between the People's Procuracies of Dien Bien and U-Dom-Xay provinces on the basis of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Supreme People's Procuracies of Vietnam and Laos; continue to implement the information exchange mechanism under the direction of the Supreme People's Procuracies of the two countries; strengthen coordination in preventing and combating transnational crimes, especially drug-related crimes, human trafficking and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters on the basis of the agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the two countries signed on January 9, 2020.
After the meeting, the People's Procuracy of Dien Bien and U-Dom-Xay provinces signed a memorandum of understanding./.
