Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the Board of Directors emphasized: inheriting the activities of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam - Canada Community College Project to build Tra Vinh Community College, after developing into a TVU, the Principal of TVU established the Board of Directors of TVU. Members of the Board of Directors include local leaders, scientists , experts, along with experienced managers with heart and vision domestically and internationally, carrying out the responsibility of consulting on long-term, medium-term, and short-term strategies for the development of the School. After 23 years of operation, from 12 members, now with 36 members, the Board of Directors of TVU has actively contributed to the comprehensive and sustainable development of TVU.

In 2024, the Board of Directors of TVU effectively performed its functions, especially consulting on strategic development plans: The Board participated in giving opinions and directions; invited experienced experts to participate in training and guidance on methods for building strategic plans; organized to collect opinions from relevant parties to determine the University's strategy. On that basis, a strategic plan was developed and issued through stages, thereby helping the University to orient, set goals and organize implementation; develop appropriately when implementing autonomy in training, scientific research and serving the community.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh, former Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TVU shared the achievements of TVU over the past 23 years.

At the conference, delegates discussed and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the consulting function in the field of scientific research and technology transfer. The consulting process of the Council was implemented in many ways: directly working with specialized departments, member schools, institutes, centers, etc. to orient the implementation of scientific research work according to the strengths and characteristics of the units; developing training plans, fostering and improving professional qualifications and research capacity of lecturers at the departments; advising the School's leaders on projects and proposals to competent authorities to invest in and develop equipment for training and scientific research.

Dr. Phan Manh Tien, Vice President of the Vietnam Community College Association, former Deputy Director of the Department of HigherEducation - Ministry of Education and Training, Member of the Board of Directors affirmed the effectiveness of the Board of Directors of the TVU.

The results of scientific research and technology transfer of the University have developed strongly in 2024. Notably, in 05 years (2019 - 2023), TVU has carried out 187 scientific research topics at all levels and transferred science and technology. Of which, 04 topics are at the State level; 15 topics are at the ministerial level, 168 topics are at the School level.

Associate Professor, Dr. Phuoc Minh Hiep, former Head of the Standing Office of the Communist Magazine in the South, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, member of the School Council, shared about the responsibilities of the Board of Directors in the coming time.

At the same time, in 2024, the Board of Directors of TVU deployed and completed the contents of the proposed consulting program: orientation for the development of the University in accordance with the Planning of Tra Vinh province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister; orientation for synchronous and in-depth development; development of "core" capacity; identification of the strengths and "core" training programs of the University; brand development, affirmation of the culture of TVU; completion and submission for approval of the Project for Development of TVU according to the advanced university model.

Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TVU, thanked the members of the Board of Directors for their contributions to the development of the University.

In 2025, the Board of Directors will maintain and enhance the attention and support of the Central and local leaders; create favorable conditions to support the implementation of the School's political tasks. In particular, continue and promptly advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on implementing autonomy and developing the School according to the model of an advanced University; coordinate with relevant departments and branches to implement long-term development plans and strategic plans of the School.

Mr. Huynh Khac Nhu, General Director of Tra Bac Joint Stock Company, hopes that the Board of Directors will continue to operate innovatively and effectively.

On this occasion, the Board of Directors of TVU awarded a plaque of recognition and honor to members of the Board of Directors and individuals who have made many contributions to the activities of the Board of Directors for the development of TVU.
