Online conference to deploy tasks on natural disaster prevention

On October 10, in Hanoi, the Government Office held an online conference with a number of localities to deploy tasks: Government leaders direct and operate online on natural disaster prevention, incident response and search and rescue at the Information Center, the direction and operation of the Government, the Prime Minister. Leaders of the Department of Administrative Procedure Control, Government Office chaired the conference. Attending at the Ha Giang bridge were leaders representing a number of relevant units of the province.

At the Conference, the leaders of the Administrative Procedure Control Department, the Government Office informed about the draft Scenario framework for Government leaders to direct and operate online on natural disaster prevention, incident response and search and rescue at the Information Center, the Government's Command and Operation Center, and the Prime Minister . The scenario's objective is to organize online meetings and operations of Government leaders on natural disaster prevention, incident response and search and rescue at the Information Center, the Government's Command and Operation Center, the Prime Minister to the bridge points of ministries, branches, localities and in the field. Applying modern technology in the electronic environment, strengthening the advisory work, organizing activities and supporting decision-making of the Government and the Prime Minister in emergency situations; optimizing resources, time and costs. At the same time, promote integration, connection, data sharing, improve coordination efficiency between ministries, branches, localities and strengthen international cooperation, ensure readiness in human resources and digital infrastructure. The scenario also specifies plans for organizing and implementing effective online meetings and operations; ensure transmission lines, online connections and operational personnel to serve online meetings and operations.

Speaking at the Conference, the leader of the Provincial People's Committee Office informed: Since the beginning of the year, Ha Giang has experienced 21 natural disasters with great impacts, causing many losses in human lives and property; killing 30 people, injuring 20 people, damaging over 10,000 houses and seriously affecting facilities, civil infrastructure, irrigation works, and traffic. The total damage is about 1,500 billion VND. The Office of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee recommends: The Ministry of Information and Communications shares telecommunications infrastructure data to serve the restoration of network systems and telephone signals to serve the direction and operation during and after natural disasters; support training of staff to use new equipment and transmission lines; invest in additional specialized equipment for warning work. Propose additional scenarios to assess the causes of landslides and floods from the perspective of state agencies and functional sectors to ensure objective, accurate and easy information for disaster prevention work in the locality./.
