Workshop on preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics of the province

According to statistics, Vinh Phuc has 1,469 relics to date. Of these, 521 have been ranked, including 6 special national relics or relic clusters and 453 provincial relics. The relic system is diverse in types and evenly distributed throughout the province.

In recent years, the work of preserving historical and cultural relics in the province has been implemented through many solutions, from policy making, financial investment to mobilizing resources from the community and applying technology. Many outstanding conservation and restoration projects have been implemented, typically the conservation and restoration of Tho Tang communal house - a special national relic.

In addition to the achieved results, the work of preserving and promoting the value of relics in the province still faces many challenges such as limited capital for restoration, a shortage of professional staff, especially young staff, and a gradual decrease in the number of artisans holding traditional cultural values.

Rapid economic development and urbanization have affected the space and landscape of relics. Propaganda and education about relics have not been really regular and extensive. In addition, the impact of climate change has also had a major impact on the degradation of physical relics.

At the workshop, delegates and scientists discussed, shared opinions and proposed directions to further improve the efficiency of the work of preserving and promoting the value of relics ranked at provincial and national levels, such as reviewing and removing bottlenecks in the process of approving and implementing relic restoration projects so that the projects can be implemented quickly and promptly.

Preserving relics must go hand in hand with education, culture, and tourism; promoting the role of socialization by building specific and transparent mechanisms and guidelines to attract and manage contributions from the community and businesses; promoting propaganda and education on the value of historical and cultural relics more regularly and diversely; thoroughly resolving issues related to land disputes over relics...

Based on the opinions of the delegates, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations synthesizes and advises the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to direct the preservation and promotion of the values of historical and cultural relics of the province.
