Scientific conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of General Doan Khue's birth

Today (October 27), in Dong Ha City (Quang Tri), the Ministry of National Defense chaired and coordinated with Quang Tri province to organize a scientific conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of General Doan Khue's birth (October 29, 1923 - October 29, 2023) with the theme General Doan Khue - A staunch communist, an outstanding leader and commander of the Vietnam People's Army, an outstanding son of his homeland Quang Tri.

The workshop was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Workshop Steering Committee; Mr. Le Quang Tung, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, Co-Head of the Workshop Steering Committee.

General Doan Khue (alias Vo Tien Trinh), was born in Gia Dang village, Trieu Tan commune (now Trieu Lang commune), Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri.

Born and raised in a homeland rich in traditions of patriotism and revolutionary struggle, General Doan Khue was enlightened early and participated in revolutionary activities in 1939 at the age of 16.

During 60 years of revolutionary activities, General Doan Khue has held many positions in many different fields of activity. Regardless of his position, responsibility, or circumstances, the General has always maintained the qualities of a revolutionary soldier, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People; being resourceful, decisive, and creative in leadership and command, and excellently completing all tasks assigned by the Party, State, and People.

The process of striving and training has turned the patriotic young man Doan Khue into a staunch communist, an excellent leader, military commander, and talented politician of the Party, State, and People's Army of Vietnam.

With sharp thinking, strategic vision, and profound practical experience, the General has made many contributions to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution. The General is a shining example of revolutionary ethics and the personality of a loyal communist soldier, dedicating himself to the country and the people.

The General also always paid special attention to his hometown Quang Tri, contributing many valuable ideas to the Party Committee, government, army and people of the province, with the desire to further develop the province.

At the workshop, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh shared: “Today's workshop is one of the major activities with practical significance for the country and the army in 2023. It contributes to educating revolutionary traditions for cadres, soldiers and people, especially the young generation, to promote patriotism, love for socialism and national pride and self-respect”.

Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Le Quang Tung said: “This scientific conference is a special occasion for us to continue to affirm and clarify the great contributions and dedication of General Doan Khue to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and Quang Tri homeland.

The results of the workshop will contribute significantly to the education of patriotism, revolutionary traditions, and pride; at the same time, create spiritual motivation, arouse faith and aspiration to build the homeland of Quang Tri increasingly prosperous and strong.
