Language Contest for Border Guards in Lao Cai Province |

On August 15-16, the Border Guard Command of Lao Cai province organized the 2024 Border Guard Force's Neighboring Language Competition for officers and professional soldiers who have received training in the neighboring language (Chinese) at schools inside and outside the military.

Nine teams, comprising 54 officers currently serving in units within the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard, participated in the competition. The competition consisted of two parts: individual and team events.

In the individual competition, contestants demonstrate four skills: listening, speaking, reading comprehension, and writing. In the team competition, teams participate in three activities: greetings, public speaking, and answering direct questions.

According to the assessment, the Organizing Committee and the Judging Panel strictly and seriously directed and managed the participating units according to the plan and regulations during the judging process; the evaluation of results was rigorous, objective, impartial, and accurate. The participating units thoroughly understood and implemented the development of a complete and high-quality system of competition documents.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the second prize to the Pha Long Border Guard Station, and the third prize to the Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station; and also awarded first, second, and third prizes to three individuals.

The competition aims to assess the quality of training and education in the languages ​​of neighboring countries by the units, contributing to the successful fulfillment of all assigned tasks, and also serving as an opportunity to exchange learning experiences among units; further promoting the emulation movement of learning and teaching foreign languages ​​well in general, training and education in the languages ​​of neighboring countries in particular, and improving the effectiveness of foreign language training in the Border Guard Force.
