More than 214 million successful searches for health insurance card information using personal identification and citizen identification

Vietnam Social Security has just reported on the implementation results of Project 06, according to which, by the end of May 2025: The work of connecting and sharing data between the National Population Database and the National Insurance Database has authenticated more than 100.2 million citizen information in the database managed by Vietnam Social Security, of which about 90.9 million people are participating and enjoying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance, accounting for 99.2% of the total number of participants (excluding armed forces and military relatives) with the National Population Database; 100% of health insurance treatment facilities have deployed health insurance treatment using chip-embedded ID cards with over 214 million successful searches of health insurance card information using personal identification numbers/ID cards to serve health insurance treatment procedures.

Regarding the implementation of integration and provision of online public services, the entire social insurance system has processed 1,748,507 records, including: 1,729,499 records of health insurance card issuance for children under 6 years old; 18,501 records of funeral allowance settlement and 507 records of death benefit settlement.

At the same time, the system received from the National Public Service Portal: To confirm and return the process of paying social insurance for 818,653 cases serving the settlement of unemployment benefits for employees. Processed 18,066 transactions of registering and paying voluntary social insurance; 97,738 cases of registering for payment, issuing and renewing health insurance cards; 415 records of public service resolving one-time social insurance benefits (belonging to the group applying the pilot digital signature authentication integrated in the application on mobile devices to serve the provision of online public services).

Regarding the coordination of the implementation of the Electronic Health Book, nationwide, there have been 314,155,645 data submissions from health insurance facilities to the Vietnam Social Security System. Of which, there have been 152,128,607 successful searches of health examination records, referral papers, and re-examination appointment papers linked to the national population database for integration into the VNeID application. In addition, nationwide, there are: 1,363 health examination facilities that have sent driver health examination data with 6,255,215 data sent; 1,951 health examination facilities have sent birth certificate data with 2,361,179 data sent; 796 health examination facilities have sent death certificate data with 31,024 data sent.

Regarding the promotion of non-cash payment of insurance benefits. In urban areas alone, currently over 83% of beneficiaries receive social insurance and unemployment benefits through personal accounts (exceeding 23% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1813/QD-TTg dated October 28, 2021 on approving the Project on developing non-cash payments in Vietnam for the period 2021-2025), nationwide over 80% of the total number of people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits through personal accounts.

It can be seen that the synchronous and comprehensive implementation of solutions in implementing Project No. 06 of Vietnam Social Security has helped the entire system optimize the use and exploitation of the database to serve people and businesses; resolve and pay regimes and policies promptly, quickly and accurately;... to achieve the ultimate goal of bringing the best benefits and utilities to people and businesses./.
