On the morning of May 24, more than 3,500 candidates from Ho Chi Minh City took the 10th grade exam at the Gifted High School. From 6:00 a.m., at the exam site of Saigon Practical High School (District 5), many candidates were present, preparing to take the first exam.
Parents took their children to the exam site very early. "I feel a bit worried, the whole family expects him to pass the Math exam at the gifted school. I hope he can do well on the test," said Gia Phu's mother (Hong Bang Secondary School).
Hai Phuong and Huynh Hoa reviewed their Literature knowledge together. Ha Phuong said that this was an exam she had high expectations for and had prepared herself mentally to take the test: "About a week ago, I was quite worried. However, with the encouragement of my family and teachers, today I feel no pressure, very comfortable."
Cat Tuong (Comprehensive Secondary School) and Hoang Minh Toan felt most worried about English. Before entering the exam room, the two friends sat together in the school yard to review to gain motivation.
Many candidates arrived at the exam site an hour before the scheduled time to complete procedures and feel comfortable.
Candidates quickly ate breakfast and discussed with each other the knowledge they had prepared.
In 2025, the Gifted High School (VNU-HCMC) will enroll 600 students in 17 specialized 10th grade classes. At 3 exam locations: Gifted High School (District 5 campus), Saigon Practice High School (District 5) and Gifted High School (Thu Duc).
The first exam subjects in the morning were Literature and English. The students were excited before the exam.
Phuoc Khanh, Thuy Tien, and Phuong Vy showed their determination before the exam because they had studied carefully.
Ms. Nhien (in black) is a bit worried. She and her child traveled nearly 20km to the test site, starting at 5:30 this morning. "While my child is taking the test, I will wait with other parents to wait for news. My child is very comfortable because both parents encourage him to consider this as a test," she shared.
