More than 400 officials and prestigious people in ethnic minority areas were educated and trained in drug prevention and control.

Mr. Do Woang Ya Guong - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Lam Dong province delivered the opening speech.

During 3 days (from April 23 to 25), more than 400 delegates, including village-level officials, prestigious people and representatives of ethnic minorities in remote communes in the province, will participate in a conference to disseminate information on drug crime prevention and control and legaleducation in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Delegates will listen to topics related to the situation, methods of drug crime and related legal regulations, in order to raise awareness and the role of officials and prestigious people in the work of preventing and combating this social evil.

Also during this time, 100 officials working on ethnic affairs at district and commune levels in ethnic minority areas also participated in a training conference to improve knowledge on drug crime prevention to raise awareness and capacity, skills in propaganda and mobilizing the masses in preventing drug crimes in the locality.

The conference is a practical activity, contributing to raising awareness, responsibility and law enforcement capacity for cadres and people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of drug crime prevention and control, maintaining security and order in ethnic minority areas.
