The festival took place at 5 locations in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting about 5,000 contestants from 6 to 14 years old. Accordingly, each contestant drew a personal painting in 120 minutes, on A3 paper with drawing materials such as: wax, watercolor, powder, acrylic...
With the theme “Mid-Autumn Independence”, the children expressed through their paintings images rich in historical and cultural significance: Mid-Autumn Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam; Uncle Ho celebrating Tet with children; Mid-Autumn activities of children such as: lantern procession, feast breaking, lion dance, folk games...
Along with that, familiar images associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival such as: Uncle Cuoi, Ms. Hang, family reunion around the Mid-Autumn Festival tray... are also encouraged to be included in the paintings.

After the preliminary round, the final round will be held on the morning of October 5 at Uncle Ho Statue Park with children, combined with the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival exhibition space with the theme "Moonlight of Peace " at 169 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected that about 500 excellent candidates will be selected for the final round.

*On the same day, at Dam Sen Water Park (HCMC), the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education organized the awarding of Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship and the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival for children of union members.

On this occasion, the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education awarded 111 students who are children of union members who achieved the title of excellent students; and awarded 282 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships to students who studied well and overcame difficulties.
