At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Do Hong Cam highly appreciated the positive contributions of Hong Kong Airlines to the Vietnamese aviation industry and the economy in general. He expressed his appreciation for the long-term cooperation between the two sides and encouraged the airline to continue expanding its routes connecting Hong Kong with prominent destinations in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc.
Mr. Louis Li noted the strong growth of Vietnam's aviation market in recent years, supported by important infrastructure projects such as the new terminal in Hanoi and the development of new airports across the country.
The Vice President of Hong Kong Airlines affirmed that Vietnam continues to be one of the most potential markets in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong Airlines is committed to expanding its presence in Vietnam.
The two sides also discussed potential cooperation opportunities in the development of Long Thanh International Airport and Gia Binh Airport — two key projects expected to contribute to strengthening aviation infrastructure and enhancing regional connectivity. At the same time, the close cooperative relationship between Hong Kong Airlines and the Vietnamese aviation industry was affirmed, creating a foundation for extensive cooperation and sustainable development in the coming years.
Hongkong Airlines is known as the second largest airline in Hong Kong, after Cathay Pacific. This airline was established in 2001 with the previous name of CR Airways and officially started operating on July 5, 2003. The airline officially changed its name to Hongkong Airlines on September 30, 2006.
Hongkong Airlines has a fleet of many quality aircraft of all sizes such as Airbus A330-200, Airbus A320, Airbus A330-200Fs or Boeing B737-800. The airline operates and develops mainly on regional routes with 10 destinations in Hong Kong, China and Vietnam. The routes provided by the airline are usually destinations in Southeast Asian countries.
