Cooperation in the work of the Hanoi Front

Speaking at the reception, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen highly appreciated the delegation's visit, which took place in the context that the two countries recently had many meaningful activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of signing the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries; in particular, President Vo Van Thuong had a very successful working trip to Laos in April 2023.

Agreeing with the sharing of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Front Committee for National Construction of Vientiane Capital Thanom Thamthong said that the increasingly good development relationship between the two Party Committees has contributed significantly to the development and strong cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

At the reception, delegates from both sides spent time discussing many issues of mutual concern.

Sharing about the socio-economic development achievements of Hanoi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that as the capital of the country, Hanoi shouldered the great responsibility assigned by the Party and the State. Therefore, the city always paid comprehensive attention to all areas, including the work of building and rectifying the Party and building the political system.

According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Hanoi has set 22 socio-economic development targets for 2022, and has completed all of them, of which 5 targets exceeded the set targets. Growth reached the highest level in 10 years, helping the city's economic scale reach about 50 billion USD, accounting for more than 10% of the country's economic scale.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen presented gifts to the delegation of the Lao Front for National Construction Committee in Vientiane.

Regarding the immediate orientation, comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that Hanoi is focusing on improving people's lives; developing e-commerce, promoting trade and service economy; investing in cultural development, preserving and promoting the value of historical relics. The Hanoi Party Committee has a policy of investing in three areas: health, culture, and education, of which the 2022-2023 period is expected to invest about 47,000 billion VND.

Referring to the efforts to develop the economy in a sustainable direction, comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that Hanoi is focusing on developing industrial park clusters to create development momentum. Recently, the city has started the Ring Road 4 project - Capital Region, creating development momentum not only for the capital but also for neighboring provinces...

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee stated that, in the development process, Hanoi always focuses on improving the quality of activities of the city's Fatherland Front - the center of the great national unity bloc in the area, as well as socio-political organizations and member organizations; emphasizing that the city always highly appreciates the role of supervision and participation in social criticism of the Front and organizations on major policies related to the people's livelihood that the city issues.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee expressed his hope that the talks between the two capitals' Front agencies tomorrow morning, June 28, will be a great success, effectively meeting the needs and orienting cooperation between the two sides.

For his part, Comrade Thanom Thamthong shared an overview of the development achievements of Vientiane Capital, emphasizing the economic growth of 4.48% in the middle of the term, in which the agricultural sector grew by more than 35%, and the industrial sector grew by about 6.3%. He said that in the coming time, Vientiane Capital will focus on solving two national programs at the same time, with priority being given to solving economic and financial difficulties...

Comrade Thanom Thamthong highly appreciated the Hanoi Party Committee's constant attention to the role of the Fatherland Front and Fatherland Front organizations in the process of developing the capital and the country.
