With the theme “Clean water for a green and sustainable countryside”, this year’s National Week for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation aims to emphasize the message that ensuring clean water and environmental sanitation is the responsibility of the whole society; providing and storing safe water to cope with drought, water shortage, and saltwater intrusion; regularly washing hands with soap and clean water to contribute to disease control. The event will be held from April 29 to May 6, possibly extending to World Environment Day on June 5 and combining with major holidays such as April 30 and May 1.
Localities and units organize activities in response with key contents including: Widely disseminate information on mass media; hang banners and posters; distribute documents and leaflets on clean water and environmental sanitation; organize online communication campaigns on social networks, websites of socio -political organizations and schools. In particular, communication work needs to focus on educating, raising awareness, changing community behavior on clean water use, environmental sanitation, personal hygiene to improve health and prevent and control epidemics. In schools, it is encouraged to integrate propaganda content into lectures appropriate to each grade level.
