The guest house of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the southern Gaza Strip was raided by the Israeli navy, with no casualties.
The United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) said the incident occurred on November 12 when the Israeli navy raided and severely damaged a guest house used by foreign staff in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.
There were no casualties in the incident, as UN staff had left the site 90 minutes earlier. UNRWA did not disclose why the staff at the guesthouse had evacuated before the raid.

"The attack shows that there is no safe place in Gaza, not in the north, not in the centre, not in the south," UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini said, adding that the agency had twice shared the guesthouse's coordinates with the warring parties, most recently on November 10.
The Israeli Defense Ministry has not commented on the information. Tel Aviv has accused Hamas of using UN infrastructure to hide fighters and weapons.
UN officials say 101 UNRWA staff have been killed in Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since the conflict began in early October. "This is the highest number of casualties of aid workers in the history of the United Nations, recorded in a very short period of time," said Tatiana Valovaya, director general of the UN Office in Geneva.

Israel stepped up its military operations in the Gaza Strip in late October in retaliation for Hamas’ October 7 raid. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have surrounded Gaza City since November 2 and sent units into the city from two directions.
The Gaza Strip is facing water shortages and its health system is on the brink of collapse due to lack of fuel, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The White House announced on November 9 that Israel had agreed to a daily four-hour ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to allow civilians to evacuate the war zone southward through a humanitarian corridor established earlier this month and to deliver aid into the area.
