Israel's fierce airstrikes destroyed many Hamas facilities

According to SF , the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a daring naval raid while Hamas launched another wave of rocket attacks. Many casualties were reported on both sides.

IDF raid

The IDF announced that the Navy's Shayetet 13 commando unit carried out a raid in southern Gaza. In a statement, the IDF said the commando unit destroyed Hamas infrastructure.

The IDF added that other Israeli naval forces participated in the operation and that all Shayetet 13 commandos left the area and returned to Israel after the raid. Video released by the IDF shows Israeli commandos landing on the Gaza coast and clashing with Hamas gunmen.

This is the third Israeli attack on Gaza in the past 48 hours. IDF infantry, engineers and armored forces carried out two raids on October 26 and 27.

Airstrikes on Gaza

The IDF said it carried out more than 250 strikes on Hamas targets in Gaza during the day, including tunnels, command centers, and rocket launch sites.

According to the IDF, the commander of Hamas's West Khan Younis Battalion, Madhat Mubasher, was killed in an evening attack in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Palestinian media reported airstrikes on residential areas from the north to the south of Gaza. Airstrikes and heavy artillery also hit northern Gaza, where the majority of residents have been evacuated. In the central Gaza Strip, several airstrikes hit the area near the al-Shifa Hospital complex, destroying several homes and residential areas.

Missile attack on Israel

Hamas has launched two volleys of rockets at Tel Aviv and surrounding cities since the morning of October 27. Videos posted on social media showed extensive damage. The Magen David Adom balance service said four people were injured in the attacks.

A rocket attack also targeted the settlement of Ashkelon near Gaza, causing material damage. However, no casualties were reported.

Casualties

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Authority said in a report that 7,326 people have been killed by Israeli attacks since the start of the conflict. The latest death toll includes 1,792 women and 3,038 children. A further 18,967 people have been injured, the agency said.

On the Israeli side, the death toll remains at 1,405. The casualties include 310 soldiers and 58 police officers. In addition, more than 5,000 Israelis have been injured so far.

Meanwhile, the IDF updated the number of military and civilian hostages taken by Hamas in the surprise attack on October 7 to 229.
