Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, many casualties

Four people, including two Hezbollah members, were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon.

Xinhua News Agency quoted Lebanese sources as saying that Israeli airstrikes on eastern and southern Lebanon on October 23 killed four people, including two Hezbollah members.

"Two people were killed and two others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on a house in the southern Lebanese town of Arabsalim on the evening of October 23 while two people were killed and several others were injured in previous Tel Aviv airstrikes on areas in the eastern Lebanese district of Baalbek," the source said.

A Lebanese Army intelligence source told Xinhua that the two people killed in eastern Lebanon were Hezbollah members identified as Mohammad Haidar Jazini and Hisham Khalil.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah is known to be effective from November 27, 2024. However, the Israeli Army continues to conduct sporadic attacks on Lebanon, citing operations against the "threat" of Hezbollah forces, while maintaining forces at five key positions along the border with Lebanon.
