Through inspection, verification and measurement, the remaining wood at the scene has a volume of nearly 2.3m ³ .

Through field inspection, the authorities discovered that at lot 124, compartment 5, sub-compartment 404 (in Tan Khang village, Hoa Muc commune), the forest area destroyed was 8,780m². The total number of trees cut down was 57 trees of group V-VIII, with a total volume of 2,299m³. This is a closed, regenerated forest with no reserves belonging to the production forest category.

Upon verification, Ms. LTM, Tan Khang village, Hoa Muc commune admitted to being the person who directly committed the act of deforestation. On April 26, 2025, Sau Hai Forest Protection Station made a record of administrative violations and temporarily seized the evidence for handling. The cause of deforestation was for afforestation, the area destroyed was under the management of Hoa Muc commune People's Committee.

The deforestation process caused the fire to spread to part of the nearby natural forest area.

On May 9, 2025, the Chief of the Cho Moi District Forest Protection Department issued a decision to administratively fine Ms. LTM 17.5 million VND. At the same time, all illegal timber was confiscated and Ms. M was forced to replant the forest or pay the cost of reforestation corresponding to the destroyed area according to regulations.

The content of Report No. 162/BC-HKL dated May 13, 2025 of the Cho Moi District Forest Protection Department confirmed that the information published by Bac Kan Newspaper was true and the incident had been strictly handled. At the same time, the Cho Moi District Forest Protection Department requested the Cho Moi District People's Committee to direct Hoa Muc Commune to strengthen coordination with the District Forest Protection Department in propaganda, patrolling, and inspection to promptly detect, prevent, and handle violations of the Forestry Law in the coming time./.
