The program aims to create an attractive highlight, strongly spreading to the community and tourists the message of building a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature; rationally using natural resources, biodiversity and adapting to climate change; controlling and solving plastic waste pollution, towards a greener, cleaner lifestyle; increasing recycling and reuse; contributing to the successful implementation of the Project "Building Da Nang - Environmental City" in the period of 2021 - 2030.
Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City, Vo Nguyen Chuong, informed that “Solutions to plastic pollution” with a focus on combating plastic pollution was chosen by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) as the theme for 2023. The theme of World Oceans Day 2023 chosen by the United Nations is “Ocean Planet, Tides are Changing”.
According to Mr. Vo Nguyen Chuong, Da Nang has its own environmental brand, especially leading the country in environmental protection in 2021 and 2022. This is achieved through the active cooperation of many communities and city residents. Every Sunday morning, it is easy to see the images of war veterans, women, youth union members, especially teenagers and international tourists in the Green - Clean - Beautiful Sunday movement, participating in sorting solid waste at source, responding to the "Anti-plastic waste" movement with many good, practical and truly meaningful models and activities - creating a positive spread that has gradually entered the consciousness of Da Nang people.
On the occasion of the Action Month for the Environment and Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City continues to call on every citizen of the city, locality, organization, enterprise, and unit to focus on quickly and promptly resolving environmental issues arising in each locality and residential area; strictly managing the environment in industrial zones and within each enterprise.
