Mr. Nghia said that for the portrait of Uncle Ho, after completing the shape, he transformed the lotus leaves and lotus veins according to the sketched position on the painting frame. In addition, he had to look at the image, feel it for a long time and carefully to deeply engrave the special details in Uncle Ho's appearance such as the high forehead, bright, deep eyes, and kind smile... when attaching the painting.

Uncle Ho's portrait is made from lotus leaves, veins and lotus bushes.

“The most difficult step in portrait painting is to create the ‘spirit’, which means to depict the ‘soul’ of each character. Therefore, depending on each person, there will be very unique features on the face, so it is necessary to highlight, exaggerate details or reduce them according to the spirit of each character,” Mr. Bay Nghia shared.
