Attending were member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, representatives of departments, branches, many researchers, experts and many art lovers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, affirmed that cultural heritage is not only memory and identity, but also a "living curriculum" that nurtures the thinking and personality of the young generation. He said that since 2008, heritage education in Hue has been implemented more and more systematically, especially after the Department of Education and Training signed a cooperation agreement with the Center. The heritage education program has now reached 163 schools, helping to foster the spirit of "Hue people with identity", with awareness of preserving traditional values.
The highlight of the event is the documentary photo exhibition “ The Privy Council of the Nguyen Dynasty (1834-1945): A journey of space and the mark of the royal government” . Right in the space that used to be the supreme advisory body of the Nguyen Dynasty, the place associated with many important decisions, viewers have the opportunity to access many architectural and cultural documents and profound historical stories.
At the same time, the heritage education program “ Discovering the Privy Council and experiencing Hue heritage” attracted many students. They directly learned about the royal space, practiced and experienced, thereby better understanding the value of heritage and the role of preservation.
Another highlight is the exhibition “Donated Artifacts”, introducing more than 50 typical artifacts out of about 500 artifacts donated to the museum system by domestic and foreign organizations and individuals from 1995 to present. This is also an opportunity to express gratitude to those who have contributed to the repatriation and preservation of Hue antiques.
In parallel, the art exhibition "Hue Features 3" brings 40 works by lecturers, artists and students of the University of Arts - Hue University, recreating the beauty of Hue's culture, landscape and people through emotional painting language.
With a series of rich activities, this year's Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day Week continues to spread the value of the ancient capital's heritage to the community, creating a space for exchange between conservationists, artists and collectors - affirming Hue's position as a unique cultural center of the country.
The exhibition takes place at the Privy Council space (33 Tong Duy Tan, Phu Xuan ward) from November 21 to 27.
