The program was attended by leaders of the provincial health sector, the provincial General Hospital, Center II and medical experts from central hospitals.

The surgery program for disabled children has profound humanitarian meaning, organized with the main sponsorship of Thien Tam Fund of Vingroup Corporation.
From March 23 to 26, the program screened 550 children in all districts, towns and cities in the province. As a result, 160 children were assigned to free surgery and 42 children were assigned to assistive devices such as prosthetic legs, prosthetic arms, orthopedic braces, glasses, etc.

The official surgery was carried out from June 16 to 20 at the Provincial General Hospital with the participation of many leading experts from leading medical facilities nationwide such as: Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, Central Eye Hospital, Hanoi Medical University and Saint Paul General Hospital.
The program supports free surgery for children with deformities such as: facial deformities (cleft lip, cleft palate, torn lip, nasal defect); motor deformities (claudication of limbs; scoliosis, kyphosis); post-burn sequelae (unsightly scars that deform body parts); eye deformities (strabismus, ptosis, cataracts); genital and anal deformities (inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, hydrocele, cryptorchidism, hypospadias, vaginal adhesions, phimosis, megacolon); ear, nose and throat deformities (earache, hearing loss due to inflammation of internal organs) and benign tumors.
Speaking at the program, Comrade Pham Bich Van, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Health, affirmed: The program is organized with the desire to promptly and effectively support disabled children in difficult circumstances to improve their quality of life, creating conditions for them to have the opportunity to better integrate into the community. At the same time, this is an opportunity for local doctors to learn, exchange expertise and improve their professional capacity.
Mr. Dong Van An, Director of Center II, also said: During 19 years of operation (2005 - 2024), Center II has implemented surgical programs for 10,472 poor disabled children nationwide. In 2025, Center II has implemented a plan to organize a program to identify disabled children and provide free surgery for disabled children in difficult circumstances in 15 provinces and cities.

At the program, 160 children participating in surgery received gifts from sponsors.
