On the morning of November 16, in Thach That (Hanoi), the Ministry of Information and Communications organized the Traditional Sports Festival of the Information and Communications Industry in the Northern Region in 2024. Attending the event were Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry and hundreds of athletes from many localities and businesses in the Information and Communications industry.

The 2024 Traditional Sports Festival of the Information and Communications Industry is an exciting and lively playground for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the Information and Communications Industry, contributing to creating solidarity and cohesion between agencies, units and localities.

This is an activity organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications to enhance solidarity, create a healthy and practical playground, and a joyful and exciting atmosphere for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the information and communications sector.

For the second time, the 2024 Traditional Sports Festival of the Information and Communications Industry will take place over 2 days, with 7 competitions including: football, tennis, badminton, table tennis, cross-country running, tug of war, and sack jumping.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Sports Festival, warmly welcomed the participation of more than 800 athletes from 5 units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, 16 Departments of Information and Communications in the Northern region and 14 enterprises and press agencies in the field of information and communications.

According to Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, this year's Sports Festival is much larger in scale than last year's, demonstrating the strong development of the sports movement in the Information and Communications sector. The Sports Festival also shows the attention of the Minister, leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, leaders of Departments and agencies, and enterprises in the Information and Communications sector to improving the health of officials and employees.

This is an opportunity for us to look back on the past, share valuable experiences, encourage each other to overcome difficulties and challenges in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, contributing to building an increasingly strong IT&T industry ”, shared the Head of the Sports Festival Organizing Committee.

The sports festival is also a useful and healthy playground, creating conditions for athletes to exchange, learn, practice health, improve physical strength, increase flexibility and endurance, spread the spirit of health to build the Fatherland, promote the movement of physical training, contributing to improving labor productivity and work efficiency.

The sports festival is also an opportunity for the Departments of Information and Communications to promote the image of localities, introduce the cultural beauty of provinces and cities in the Northern region, and strengthen solidarity and friendship among agencies, units and businesses in the industry.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Organizing Committee and the close coordination of the units. At the same time, the Deputy Minister called on all athletes to compete with a spirit of honesty, nobility, solidarity, and to make every effort to achieve the highest results, and requested the referees to work impartially and objectively to ensure the success of the sports festival.

At the opening ceremony of the Sports Festival, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 3 individuals of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) for their contributions to the success of the traditional Sports Festival of the Northern region's Information and Communications Industry in 2023.
