(To Quoc) - On the evening of May 30, 2024, at the Central Administrative Square of Me Linh District, Hanoi City, the Ministry of Culture , Sports and Tourism directed the Vietnam Cultural and Art Exhibition Center to coordinate with the People's Committee of Me Linh District to organize the opening ceremony of the 25th World Children's Day - 2024, on the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1st and the Month of Action for Children with the theme "Practical Action, Prioritizing Resources for Children".

This is a regular annual event aimed at creating a healthy, fun, and educational cultural and recreational space for children during the summer.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Festival were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ta Van Ha - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education; Bui Tuan Quang - Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Bui Hoang Phuong - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, along with leaders from central departments, bureaus, institutes, and agencies… Representatives from Hanoi City and Me Linh District attending the opening ceremony included Nguyen Van Phong - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem - Secretary of the Me Linh District Party Committee; Nguyen Anh Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee; representatives from Hanoi City departments and agencies; members of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, leaders of the District People's Council and People's Committee of Me Linh District…

“This cultural activity aims to create a beneficial, healthy, and educational playground for teenagers and children every summer. It actively contributes to the implementation of the Party and State's policy on the National Action Program for Children; enhances the responsibility of the community in protecting, caring for, and educating children; and strengthens the close relationship between children, families, and the community in the cause of nurturing future generations. In particular, the festival is held in Me Linh district, the homeland of the heroic Trung Sisters, a land with a rich history, culture, revolutionary traditions, and a poetic landscape overflowing with the fragrance of June flowers,” said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong at the opening ceremony.
On this occasion, leaders from the Central Government, Hanoi City, and Me Linh District presented 90 gifts to underprivileged children who have excelled in their studies.



The children were excited to interact with People's Artist Xuan Bac.

The festival featured a variety of activities, including experiential programs and exciting competitions for children. The photo exhibition "Uncle Ho with Children" showcased 70 photographs of Uncle Ho with children in beautiful and meaningful moments. These images, depicting the simple, intimate, affectionate, caring, nurturing, and educational spirit of the President, will forever be etched in our memories, becoming an invaluable asset for generations of Vietnamese youth. It is even more significant that the exhibition was held in Me Linh district, the first place in the country to erect a statue of Uncle Ho in 1969 after his death, named Hill 79 Spring.

The exhibition also showcased the winning entries from the 2024 Postal Stamp Collection and Research Contest themed "70 Years of the Historic Dien Bien Phu Victory through Postal Stamps" and the exhibition "Children's Paintings about the Dien Bien Phu Victory and Images of Dien Bien Phu Today". This is a practical activity to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).


The cultural and artistic performances feature beloved artists and comedians such as People's Artist Xuan Bac, People's Artist Tu Long, circus performers, puppeteers, and children's art and fashion shows. Through these events, the children can interact and discover many interesting aspects of the world of childhood.


The children enthusiastically participated in the circus performances.

During the festival, the Organizing Committee will offer children a series of experiential, creative, and fun activities that combine learning and playing, developing life skills such as fire safety, traffic safety, encouraging a love of reading, exploring and experiencing favorite sports, participating in circus performances with simple acts, child modeling, and experiencing traditional crafts... Along with that, there will be a children's play area with outdoor exercise equipment, recycled and creative toys, environmentally friendly toys, and traditional folk games...





The 25th World Children's Day - 2024 will be held daily from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024, at the Central Administrative Square and the Cultural, Information and Sports Center of Me Linh District. All activities are completely free for children to participate in and enjoy.
