The highlight of the opening ceremony was the bowl dance performance of the Tay people of Bac Kan , a folk art form listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.
The performance with the theme “Bac Kan, shining with stars” with the participation of 1,000 people, including folk artists and students, brought visitors an unforgettable experience.
Bowl dance is a type of folk dance that has long existed in the culture of the Tay people in Bac Kan. The actors in traditional Cham costumes gently perform dances with bowls and chopsticks as tools.
The bowl dance has been restored, preserved and performed in a number of recent cultural and tourism activities by Bac Kan province. However, this is the first time this art form has been performed on a large scale with up to 1,000 performers.
This impressive performance is expected by Bac Kan to attract tourists and, in the long term, will become a cultural "brand" associated with tourism for the locality.
