Discover the art of nude yoga through the lens of Thai Phien

(NADS) - With the message "People always strive to overcome adversity to reach good things in life," the exhibition "Sunshine behind the curtain" by photographer Thai Phien, with 25 works, taking place from July 11 (Da Lat City) brings viewers subtle and new perspectives on the art of nude yoga.

According to Thai Phien, “When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, everything seemed gloomy and dark. During that difficult time, there were yoga activities in particular and sports in general to improve health and help people regain their spirits, looking towards a bright future. That was when I suddenly had the crazy idea of taking nude yoga art photos.”

He said the reason this is a "crazy" idea is because in yoga there are positions that are very difficult to photograph nude art.

Therefore, photographer Thai Phien used natural light from the sunlight outside to penetrate every hidden corner of the house, combined with body language to create the photo series "Sunshine behind the curtain" in a sophisticated and artistic way.

"This is also the message of the photo series: People always strive to overcome the adversity of the pandemic, aiming for good things in life."

Thai Phien added: "There are countless talented photographers in the world who shoot yoga. Creating new poses is not easy. Sunshine behind the curtain focuses on transforming the basic poses, expressing the subtle beauty of yoga through my own perspective.

Life is always a long song with intertwined ups and downs, so we should let go of everything to live happily and healthily. That is also the philosophy of yoga."

The exhibition “Sunshine Behind the Curtain” with 25 works carefully selected from a total of 250 photos that Thai Phien took over 5 years from 2019 to 2024. Starting from July 11 at 88 Ly Tu Trong, Ward 2, Da Lat, lasting until spring 2025. At the same time, artist Thai Phien plans to release a photo book Yoga nude art.
