(Chinhphu.vn) – The Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health has just requested the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Hanoi to urgently inspect, verify production activities, and take samples to test a number of products advertised by "Ngan Collagen".

N-collagen Chanh plus product violates advertising regulations

The leader of the Food Safety Department said that through post-inspection on the announcement and advertisement of food products, this unit discovered a number of products of N - Collagen Import Export Company Limited (located at 28 Lot B Street, Phu Dinh River Port Resettlement Area, Ward 16, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) advertised by an individual with the nickname "Ngan Collagen" for the products Apple candy to eliminate belly fat, N-collagen Chanh plus... violating regulations.

The Food Safety Department has checked and reviewed the online public service software. The results show that the Department has not yet issued a Certificate of Acceptance of Product Declaration Registration and a Certificate of Confirmation of Advertising Content for the products named Apple Candy for Belly Fat Removal and N-collagen Lemon Plus.

At the same time, through online review, the label images of these two products indicate that the product group is a dietary supplement.

Specifically, the product "Apple candy to eliminate belly fat", exclusively distributed by N - Collagen Import Export Company Limited, address 28 Lot B, TDC Phu Dinh River Port, Ward 16, District 8, HCMC. The trader responsible for the quality and distribution of the product is Hoang Chau Pharm Company Limited, address at No. 24, Lane 8/11 Le Quang Dao Street, Phu Do Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi . Manufactured at Vesco Pharmaceutical Company Limited, address at Dan Phuong Industrial Park, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi.

The product named Apple candy to eliminate belly fat has not been granted a Certificate of Product Declaration Registration and a Certificate of Advertising Content Confirmation.

The product "N-collagen Chanh plus" is distributed by N - Collagen Import Export Company Limited, address 28, Street 16, Phu River View Urban Area, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The trader responsible for product quality is Bequen Company Limited, address at Dan Phuong Industrial Park, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi. Manufactured at Visco Pharmaceutical Company Limited, address at Dan Phuong Industrial Park, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi.

Pursuant to the provisions of Articles 4, 5 and Article 40 of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety, the group of supplementary food products has been decentralized to local management.

Therefore, the Food Safety Department requests the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety and the Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene to urgently inspect and verify the production of the above products, and at the same time take samples for testing to determine prohibited substances (if any) for handling according to regulations.

The case is still being investigated and handled by the authorities. The Ministry of Health recommends that consumers be cautious when choosing to use weight loss products, especially products that are widely advertised on social networks but have not been confirmed safe by authorities.
