Urgent search for 3 missing people in Cat Ba sea area

On the afternoon of May 31, according to information from the People's Committee of Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, local authorities are urgently coordinating to search for 3 missing people in the Cat Ba sea area.

According to initial information, at around 4pm on May 29, Mr. NVH, 40 years old, from Ha Tinh province, a crew member on the New Vision ship, left the ship to go ashore to buy daily necessities. By 8pm the same day, no one had been able to contact Mr. H.

Through verification, at about 8:00 p.m. on May 29, Mr. D.HM, 58 years old, and Ms. PTL, 58 years old, both residing in Cat Ba town, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, drove a motorboat carrying a passenger (suspected to be Mr. H.) from Tran Chau fishing port in Tran Chau commune (same Cat Hai district) to the New Vision ship.

After that, the crew members and their families could not contact Mr. H., Mr. M. and Mrs. L. According to the report, when the three people left the port to board the ship, the sea waves were around level 7 and level 8.

At 8:00 p.m. on May 30, the management of the New Vision ship, after losing contact with Mr. H., went to the local authorities to report the incident. However, due to big waves and strong winds, it was not until this morning (May 31) that the local authorities were able to organize a search.

Also related to Cat Ba sea area, according to information from Cat Hai District People's Committee, at about 9am on May 31, local people discovered a body in Cat Ba Bay.

Through initial verification, the victim was Ms. LTM, 34 years old, residing in Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province .
