Inauguration of the Headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations

(NADS) - On the morning of August 1, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations held the inauguration ceremony of the new Headquarters after 2 years of renovation and construction at 51 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda Department attended the opening ceremony.

This is considered the common home of artists and writers across the country, associated with many important historical events of the Vietnamese literary and artistic community since the revolution.

Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan, President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, chaired the ceremony. Also attending the opening ceremony were Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations: Dr. Doan Thanh No (permanent Vice President); People's Artist, painter Vuong Duy Bien (full-time Vice President); National Assembly Deputy, Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Musician Nong Quoc Binh, President of the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities; People's Artist Trinh Thi Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association; People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem, President of the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts Associations.

After more than 2 years of construction and renovation (March 26, 2022 - August 1, 2024), the Headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations has been completed with a new, more beautiful and modern look.

The construction and renovation of the Headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations aims to overcome difficulties in the workplace and daily life of artists, officials and workers working here, ensuring working and living conditions, contributing significantly to improving the quality of professional and technical work and effectively solving tasks.

The completion and putting into operation of this new Headquarters is a great and important achievement of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, Central Professional Associations and relevant agencies and units.

Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, spoke at the ceremony.

During the process of renovating and rebuilding the Headquarters, under the direction, policies and decisions of the Party and Government leaders, with the attention, facilitation and support of the Central and Hanoi City departments, ministries, branches, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Investor, the Project Management Board, the design and construction unit and the agencies and units related to the project of building and renovating the headquarters at 51 Tran Hung Dao, there have been many efforts and endeavors in the process of project implementation, ensuring proper and full implementation of current regulations and ensuring progress.

The new headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations consists of two main buildings: the old building (front) and the new 6-storey building (back). This will continue to be the common home of the Union and the Central Literature and Arts Associations.

In the new 6-storey building including:
- 1st floor: Vietnam Musicians Association
- 2nd floor: Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists
- 3rd floor: Vietnam Fine Arts Association and Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations
- 4th Floor: Vietnam Stage Artists Association
- 5th Floor: Vietnam Cinema Association
- 6th floor: Common hall of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and its member associations

At the old house (renovated):
- Departments and offices of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Traditional Room; General hall of the Union and member associations; Management Board and some press units of member associations (Photography and Life Magazine on the 1st floor of this old building).

The new look of the headquarters of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations demonstrates the Party, State and Government's concern for the task of developing Vietnamese literature and arts. At the same time, it creates a competitive atmosphere, promotes tradition; is united and determined to successfully carry out the task of developing literature and arts, contributing to building Vietnamese culture in an advanced direction, imbued with national identity so that "Culture lights the way for the nation to go".
