Groundbreaking ceremony of Ninh Binh expressway project

Delegates give the order to start construction of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway project through Ninh Binh

On the morning of April 19, at the Mai Son intersection with the North-South Expressway in Khanh Thuong Commune (Yen Mo District), Ninh Binh Province solemnly held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway Construction Investment Project, the section passing through Ninh Binh Province.

This is a national key traffic project, of special significance, chosen as a typical project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway is a strategic traffic axis, connecting the northern coastal provinces with the North - South expressway.

The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway through Ninh Binh province is about 25.3 km long, passing through Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts.

The project has a total investment of more than 6,800 billion VND, using capital from the central budget and provincial budget.

The project is designed according to class A highway standards, with a design speed of 120 km/h, with 4 interchanges, 12 overpasses and 19 underpasses, along with a system of service roads, drainage works, ITS, and rest stops, ensuring synchronization, modernity and safety.

The project will be implemented in the period of 2024 - 2026, with a construction period of 20 months. Upon completion, the route will contribute to improving regional connectivity, promoting socio -economic development, enhancing competitiveness, attracting investment, and creating strong development momentum for Ninh Binh province and the entire Red River Delta.

The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway project is not only a modern traffic project, but also a symbol of the will to innovate, the aspiration to rise up and the spirit of solidarity of the Party Committee, government and people of Ninh Binh province.

The project, when put into operation, will serve the long-term, sustainable development of Ninh Binh in particular and the Red River Delta in general.
